Terms of sale and refunds
The short version
- Most of what our apps do is free. Some apps offer paid extras, sold as a subscription or a one-time purchase.
- On our websites, payments are handled by Link, Stripe’s checkout. Link is the seller on your receipt, and it works out and pays any sales tax or VAT.
- A subscription renews by itself until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, online or by email; you keep what you paid for until the end of the period.
- Not happy? Ask within 30 days of any payment and you get that payment back in full. No questions asked.
- Bought in the App Store or on Google Play? Then Apple or Google sold it, and refunds come from them.
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you pay for something in a Stillbyte app or on one of our websites: a subscription, a one-time purchase or any other paid feature. The app itself, and how you may use it, is covered by the app’s own terms or licence, and our general terms of use. How we handle personal data is in our privacy policy. The apps are made by Stillbyte LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Stillbyte”, “we”, “us”). Registered address: 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
2. Who sells to you
- On our websites and in apps you download from them, the checkout is run by Link, a service of Stripe. Link resells our paid features to you: it is the merchant of record, so it is the seller named on your receipt, it takes the payment, and it is responsible for the sales tax, VAT or GST on it. The Link company that sells to you, and the terms you accept at checkout, are named on the checkout page and in Link’s terms. We remain responsible for the product itself: that it works as described, and for help with it.
- In the App Store, Apple sells the purchase and Apple’s terms apply.
- On Google Play, Google sells the purchase and the Google Play terms apply.
Your card or bank statement for a purchase on our websites shows a line that starts with LINK.COM*. Receipts and invoices come by email from Link, with a PDF attached.
3. Prices and taxes
The price is shown before you pay, on the checkout page, in your local currency where it is available. Sales tax, VAT or GST is added where the law requires it and shown at checkout, so the total you see is the total you pay. Your bank may add its own fees, such as a foreign-transaction fee; those are between you and your bank.
4. Subscriptions
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period — monthly or yearly — and is charged to the same payment method, until you cancel. Before a yearly subscription renews, you get an email reminder.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time at link.com (sign in with the email you paid with), from the link in your receipt, or simply write to support@stillbyte.dev and we will cancel it for you. Subscriptions from the App Store or Google Play are cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings.
- After you cancel, nothing more is charged, and the paid features stay on until the end of the period you have already paid for. Everything free in the app keeps working, and your files stay where they are.
5. Refunds
If a purchase is not what you hoped for, write to support@stillbyte.dev within 30 days of the payment — the first one or any renewal — and we will refund that payment in full. You do not have to give a reason. Please include the email you paid with, so we can find the purchase.
- The money goes back to the payment method you used. Banks usually take 5–10 business days to show it.
- A refund cancels the purchase: the paid features it unlocked switch off, and a refunded subscription will not renew.
- After 30 days, write to us anyway if something went wrong — a double charge, a renewal you meant to cancel, a feature that does not work. We look at every case and lean towards refunding.
- You can also ask Link directly, at support.link.com.
- For purchases in the App Store, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, through your Google Play order history. We cannot refund those ourselves, but write to us if you need help.
We may decline a request only in clear cases of fraud or repeated abuse of refunds.
6. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, for example, you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days; our 30-day refund covers that period and more, and you can use it in the same way.
7. Problems with a payment
If a charge looks wrong, please write to us first: we can usually put it right quickly, which is faster than a dispute through your bank. If you do open a dispute (a chargeback), Link handles it with your bank, and the paid features of that purchase may be paused until it is resolved.
8. Changes to prices and features
- Prices. If the price of your subscription goes up, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies. The new price starts only from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then.
- Features. We keep improving our apps, and paid features may change. If we stop offering a paid feature you have paid for, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
- These terms. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top. A change applies to purchases and renewals made after it is published.
