Volna support
Quick answers
Text doesn’t appear where I’m typing
Volna works in any app with a text field. On a Mac, Volna types the text in for you once it is allowed in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility; without that, the text goes to the clipboard and you press ⌘V. The App Store version always copies the text and shows “Copied: press ⌘V”. On Windows, if a field won’t take a paste, set Insert Text By to Typing in Volna’s settings.
Does Volna send my voice anywhere?
No. Recognition runs on your computer, so there is no server that could hear your voice or keep a recording of it. Volna uses the internet only to download speech models and to check for updates.
Which Macs and PCs does it run on?
Macs with Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later. PCs with Windows 11, or Windows 10 with its updates (64-bit), 4 GB of memory (8 GB recommended) and 2 GB of free disk space.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the speech model is downloaded. Recognition itself needs no internet connection.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”
Windows warns about new apps it doesn’t know yet. Click More info, then Run anyway, and the installer starts. It needs no administrator rights.
