Kalila support

Private translator for Mac and the web

Quick answers

⌃⌥T doesn’t translate the selected text

To translate selected text in other apps, allow Kalila in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. Kalila lives in the menu bar: if its icon isn’t there, open Kalila from Applications.

A language is missing

Kalila uses Apple’s on-device translation. If a language isn’t on your Mac yet, Kalila shows a Download button; you can also manage languages in System Settings › General › Language & Region › Translation Languages.

Does Kalila send what I translate anywhere?

No. Translation runs on your device, even offline. Kalila collects no data.
