The halo didn’t name the app

It says “The camera is on — click to see which app” when macOS didn’t note the app in time. Click it: the hub shows every app it knows. Apps using the camera through another app (a browser tab) are named by the browser.

An app still sees my camera after “Camera off”

An app that already had the camera open keeps it until it stops — quit it from the hub. From then on it has to ask macOS again, and you can say no.

My microphone is silent

Check the hub: if “Microphone” is off, turn it on. Quitting Still Studio also turns it back on.

The hub doesn’t open when I point at the notch

Settings › General › “Open the hub when the pointer rests on the notch”. A click on the notch or the menu bar icon always opens it.

Quit All, or All Quiet, closed an app I needed

Click Reopen Them on the result. To keep an app open next time, untick it once in the list; it stays unticked.

Updates

Still Studio › Check for Updates… (in the menu bar icon’s menu, right-click). Both apps update themselves from this site.
